You should know that my country is very welcoming to foreigners, offering warm hospitality that makes every visitor feel at home.

Best time to visit in Bangladesh
Generally, the dry seasons are the most popular tourist seasons in Bangladesh, which are from October to February. But if you want to visit waterfalls, then you can plan a trip between the end of the rainy season and the beginning of the dry season, which is around September to December. This time is also suitable for those who want to see clouds from Sajek Valley, Nilachal, and Marayong Tong Hills.
Dhaka: Capital of Bangladesh
Dhaka is the capital of Bangladesh. It’s a crowded city in the world, with very few attractions to visit. But if you are a foreigner, you could stay at least one day, not more than two days in the capital and learn the history of Bangladesh. Here is a list of some beautiful attractions you don’t want to miss.
Bangladesh National Museum
It’s a great way to start your trip to Bangladesh by learning the history and knowing the culture. In this Museum, you will find beautiful 3D art of Sundarban and Bangladeshi culture which will take you into the past. I recommend you spend most of your time on the 1st and 2nd floors as those two floors carry the most beautiful arts, cultural vives, fossil collections, and many more.
Location: It’s easy to get there, just arrive at Shahbagh Circle, Dhaka and anyone can show you the way to the Bangladesh National Museum (Jadughar).
Bangladesh National Zoo, Mirpur
The Bangladesh National Zoo is the largest zoo in the country. It holds a wide variety of animals, including Bengal tigers, lions, elephants, and exotic birds. If you love to know about unique species of animals like me, you should visit this place. It provides a chance to see wildlife up close and learn about animal conservation efforts.
Location: It’s located on the Zoo Road, Mirpur section of Dhaka. Arrive at Mirpur and take a rickshaw to Mirpur Chiriyakhana (Zoo)
Lalbagh Fort
Lalbagh Fort is a beautifully decorated historical place also known as Fort Aurangabad. As far as I know, its construction began in 1678 under the rule of Prince Muhammad Azam, the son of Emperor Aurangzeb, but was never completed. There you will find a beautiful mosque, the tomb of Bibi Pari, and several impressive gardens and water features.
Location: Lalbagh Fort is located on Lalbagh Fort Road, in the old town of Dhaka
Sonargaon
Once, Sonargaon was the capital of Bangladesh. This place holds the ancient history of Bangladesh. But I personally love this place for its world-class Muslin cloth which you will not find right now. It has a tragic history of ending such an incredible cloth which might not be completely true.
Location: Sonargaon Upazila of Narayanganj District in Dhaka Division.
Chattogram: A Land of Nature and Mountains
Chattogram: when I speak up to this name, I imagine Natural Landscapes, Mountains, Waterfalls, Rice fields, Forests, Lakes, Ocean views, and Sea Beaches. Most of the popular attractions are located in this division of Bangladesh. It’s something like Bali which has almost everything in one place. But, yeah, it is not a replacement for Bali; Chattogram is way more different.
Cox’s Bazar Sea Beaches
Cox’s Bazar has the longest sea beach in the world which attracts many tourists from locally and globally. There are various activities you will find on the beach like swimming, surfing, riding, and beach volleyball, all at an affordable price or free.
The downside of the beach is that during the peak season, it gets overcrowded. But don’t worry, you can book your stay in front of the beach and visit in the early morning. You will also have the chance to visit nearby attractions like Inani Beach and Himchori.
Saint Martin Island
Although Bangladesh has many islands, Saint Martin is the island where you will find crystal-clear blue waters, white sandy beaches, and vibrant marine life. It’s a beautiful island you’ve ever visited, where you can enjoy fresh seafood and experience the local culture of this serene and picturesque island.
Sajek, Rangamati
Sajek is a scenic hill station known for its breathtaking landscapes and lush greenery. Tourists visit this place to see clouds and mist play. The spot is a popular destination for trekking, hiking, and experiencing the serene beauty of nature. You can also explore indigenous tribal villages and learn about the local cultures.
Nilachal, Bandarban
Nilachal is almost like Sajek as both are located above clouds and offer a mesmerizing landscape of the surrounding hills and forest. Passing a night above clouds and watching the sunrise is every tourist’s dream.
The area is peaceful and serene, making it a perfect destination for relaxation and nature photography. If you are in Bangladesh, don’t miss visiting Nilachal or Sajek.
Marayong Tong Camping, Bandarban
Marayong Tong is becoming popular for those who like hiking and camping. It’s a popular campsite located on Mariyang Tong Hill which offers an incredible landscape of surrounding hills and forests. If you love to gaze at the sky and sleep while watching the stars, you should visit this spot. Bonus: You will get the opportunity to watch the sunrise and the mist or cloud covering the surrounding forests.
Note: You can rent camping equipment below the hill which includes meals and a guide.
Khoiyachora Waterfall, Mirsharai
Khoiyachora Waterfall is one of the most impressive waterfalls in Bangladesh. It has 9 steps of waterfalls which creates a stunning natural spectacle. We hiked to the 7th step and then came back because the rain trek was too slippery.
The waterfall is surrounded by green hills and forests which makes it a perfect destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers. Khoiyachora Waterfall is a must-visit spot for anyone exploring the natural wonders of Bangladesh.
But if you are not a mountain hiker I suggest you not to hike after 3rd step. Take a guide and try to visit after or before the rainy season which is September to March.
Amiakhum Waterfall, Bandarban
Amiakhum Waterfall is one of the most beautiful and secluded waterfalls in Bangladesh. This waterfall is situated in the dense forests near the Bangladesh-Myanmar border. It offers a stunning landscape surrounded by green forest and rugged terrain.
Reaching Amiakhum involves an adventurous trek through the hills, often including boat rides and crossing streams. It is a favorite destination for trekkers and adventure enthusiasts. Most of the time, it remains closed for several reasons, including the Myanmar civil war, and heavy rainfall.
Inani Beach, Cox’s Bazar
Inani Beach is a perfect choice for those who want to avoid the crowd of Cox’s Bazar Sea Beach. The landscape and water are way better than Cox’s Bazar Sea Beach. You can relax by sitting on a rock on the beach or simply collecting seashells to make a necklace on your own.
Himchori, Cox’s Bazar
Himchori is a popular tourist destination for its picturesque waterfall and stunning views of the Bay of Bengal. The lush greenery of the landscape makes it an ideal location for nature walks and picnics. Himchari National Park is home to diverse wildlife and plant species. You can visit this place while going to Inani Beach from Cox Bazar.
Chandranath Hill, Sitakunda
Chandranath Hill is a popular spot for hikers and nature lovers. The hill attracts tourists with its scenic beauty and the ancient Chandranath Temple at its summit. While trekking to the top, you will have breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The area is also rich in biodiversity where you can spot a variety of birds. Overall, Chandranath Hill is a perfect blend of spiritual significance and natural beauty.
Kaptai Lake, Rangamati
Kaptai Lake is the largest artificial lake in the country, created by damming the Karnaphuli River. The lake is surrounded by green hills and forests which are the natural habitat of various species. There are many attractions, like the Hanging Bridge, Peda Ting Ting Island, and the beautiful Buddhist temples located around the lake. The best way to explore those attractions is by hiring a boat for a day and the boatman will take you to your chosen attractions.
Mohamaya Lake, Mirsharai
Mohamaya Lake is popular for its natural beauty, kayaking, and boating. If you are near Mirsharai or Sitakunda, I suggest you visit this place. While kayaking, I recommend you keep your distance from the edge, as I had a bad experience there. Mohamaya Lake is a perfect spot for picnics, photography, and exploring the natural beauty of the region.
Chattogram Zoo
Chattogram Zoo is unique compared to other zoos because it is located on small hills. There, you will find a variety of animals, including Bengal tigers, lions, deer, bears, and numerous bird species. It provides educational and recreational opportunities, allowing visitors to learn about wildlife conservation while enjoying the natural surroundings.
Tea State Sylhet
Sylhet is famous for its rolling green hills, tea estates, and scenic landscapes. You can enjoy guided tours of the tea plantations, witness the tea-picking process, and learn about tea production. Besides tea gardens, Sylhet also offers attractions like the Ratargul Swamp Forest, Lawachara National Park, and the Jaflong Valley.
Ratargul Swamp Forest
Ratargul Swamp Forest is a unique freshwater swamp forest in the world which is often referred to as the Amazon of Bangladesh. This swamp forest is attracting tourists from around the globe for its unique tree formations. If you are seeking a serene and otherworldly experience, Ratargul Swamp Forest is a destination in Bangladesh that you will never want to miss. Its mesmerizing tree formations will amaze you every second and remind you of a scene from the “Pirates of The Carrabian” movie.
How to visit Ratargul Swamp Forest: Visiting this place is not that hard if you have proper guidance. Reach Sylhet by Train, Bus, or Car and you will find a local vehicle called CNG (Cheaper) or Texi to Ratargul Swamp Forest. It will be a good idea if you hire a CNG who will wait and return you to the city.
Lawachara National Park, Moulvibazar
Lawachara National Park (approximately 1,250 hectares) is a tropical rainforest that is a haven for trekkers, wildlife, and nature enthusiasts. You can wander through its dense forest trails, where you may encounter a variety of wildlife like deer, wild boars, endangered hoolock gibbons, and various species of birds, reptiles, and insects.
Lawachara National Park is also home to several indigenous communities, including the Khasi and Tripuri tribes. Visiting their village will give you a glimpse of our ancestor’s living standards. I only visited Khasia Polli and don’t know about others.
Madhabpur Lake, Moulvibazar
Madhabpur Lake is surrounded by rolling hills and green tea gardens which makes it a perfect destination for relaxation. The lake is known for its clear water and blooming water lilies which add extra beauty to its environment. You can enjoy a leisurely walk along the bank, take boat rides, and capture stunning photographs of the landscape. I went at the beginning of the summer season when it lost its glory.
Sada Pathor, Bholaganj
Sada Pathor means White Stones, located along the Sari River, close to the Meghalaya hills of India. But the point is that the stones are not completely white as you can see in the picture. However, A crystal-clear stone stream surrounding green hills creates a mesmerizing landscape that is worth visiting.
Jaflong
Jaflong is popular for its crystal-clear water river that flows from India to Bangladesh, the tribal village Khasia Polli, and the Waterfall. If you visit in the morning, then you can start visiting Khasia Polli, and then at noon, bathe in the waterfall if it is not crowded; otherwise, bathe in the river. In the evening, take a leisurely stroll through the white-sand area.
Sreemangal
Sreemangal is renowned for its stunning tea gardens. You will find tea gardens everywhere in Sylhet but Sreemangal offers some of the most beautiful tea gardens. So if you want to take Instagram-worthy photos of the tea garden and witness tea cultivation, you should visit Sreemangal. Furthermore, Lawachara National Park, Madhabpur Lake, and Hum-Hum Waterfalls are also located in this area. Sreemangal is also famous for its unique seven-layer tea, a specialty drink where each layer has a distinct flavor and color.
Bisnakandi
Bisnakandi is nearly similar to Sada Pathor. Most tourists visit this place to avoid crowds during the peak season. Another reason is the adventurous journey to Bisnakandi. If you want to take photos for Instagram without crowed, you should visit this place. What I can say from my experience at Sada Pathor, I had to take a risk to stand a stone in the stream to take photos for my blog.
Lalakhal
Recently, Lalakhal has become popular among tourists for its beautiful turquoise water. They take an epic boat ride from Sari Ghat to the Lalakhal zero point to sea two-color water and experience the beauty of the surrounding green tea gardens, hills, and forests. As you get closer to the zero point, you will see the water of the river is getting clearer.
Khulna
The Sundarbans
Sundarbans is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is the largest mangrove forest in the world. One of the most iconic inhabitants of the Sundarbans is the Bengal tiger, and the forest is home to the largest population of these majestic animals. What else you can encounter is spotted deer, saltwater crocodiles, various species of birds, and the rare Irrawaddy dolphin.
Sundarbans’ unique tidal waterways, mudflats, and small islands create an epic forest landscape. You can book a boat tour package to navigate through dense mangrove forests. This tour will allow you to observe wildlife in their natural habitat and experience the serene beauty of this unique region.
Shait Gombuj Masque or Sixty Dome Mosque
60 Dome Mosque is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Bagerhat, Bangladesh. It is one of the most impressive and significant Islamic architectural sites in the country constructed in the mid-15th century by Khan Jahan Ali. While visiting Sundarbans and Kuakata Sea Beach you can stop here to explore this site. At the same time, it was a Mosque and Court or justice.
Barishal
Kuakata Sea Beach, Patuakhali
Kuakata is one of the few places in the world where you can witness Sunrise and Sunset from the same spot. Not only sunrise and Sunset it also offers several activities and a relaxation area. What you should know is its water is not blue but the location is beautiful. You will also have the chance to visit Rakhine village to explore their unique culture and traditions. Don’t miss visiting the unique Jhau Forest and Red Crabbeach while it is near Kuakata Sea Beach.
Fatrar Bon, Patuakhali
Fatrar Bon has some of the most impressive landscapes you might see. It allows you to fearlessly trail through the jungle although it’s a part of the Sundarbans near Kuakata Sea Beach. You can have the opportunity to see the Crocodile’s birthplace, Sea Beach which has incredible views of the forest and the Sea. There are many more to see like Jhinuk Beach (Seashell Beach), Tengragiri Eco Park Beach, Shonakata Eco Park, and many more.
Satla, Barishal
Wanna know why the Water Lily is the national flower of Bangladesh? Visit Satla to witness the stunning landscape of Water Lily flowers. You also may witness the beautiful scenery of lily harvesting by local farmers. Hire a boat to explore this area and take some of the most unique photographs to share.
