From planning to embarking on a trip, you will find yourself stressed. There are a lot of things to consider and the journey is also stressful. But why do people say travel will free stress?
Travel can be an amazing way to reduce stress for several reasons:
1. Change of Scenery
When you start your trip, you take a break from your regular routine and that helps you reduce stress. New environments can shift your focus and give you positive feelings.
2. Disconnecting from Technology
You know our brain gets stressed from email and notifications. Every time you see the red number, you have to check, whats update and this practice give you new stresses. But when you start traveling, you won’t have time to check your mobile.
One of my experiences is that before my last camping trip, I was stressed by political news. I spend most of my time watching the news. But when I was on my trip, I didn’t think about current issues. I was amazed by the nature and most of the place is remote.
3. Physical Activity
When you are on your trip, you spend most of your time walking, hiking, or swimming. These activities release endorphins (happy hormones) that help you reduce stress. That’s why you are not feeling stressed while doing physical activities.
4. New Experiences
You know exploring new places, meeting new people, and trying new activities can create positive excitement. All of the time you change position, view, and mode, and this practice distracts you from everyday worries and promotes your mental well-being.
5. Relaxation trip
Many people do not go on adventurous trips. They use vacations as a time to relax by sitting in front of a beach, enjoying a spa, reading books, and staying in a hotel with mountainous landscapes.
Physical Activity
Physical activity will not only reduce your stress but will also help you boost your energy levels. Furthermore, it will improve cardiovascular health and even help with weight management.
And traveling involves exploring new places on food by hiking through scenic trails and walking around historic sites. By doing these activities, you can boost your immunity which can help you heal your body.
How breathtaking natural landscapes can heal your body?
When you are in a breathtaking natural landscape your body reduces the production of cortisol, the stress hormone. This will help your body relax and lower your anxiety.
If you are in a green natural landscape, your body will be exposed to phytoncides—chemicals released by trees. These chemicals will boost your immune and your body will become more resistant to illnesses.
Also, seeing natural landscapes will lower your depression make you feel happier, and help your body to fight your illness.
Improve your Sleep Quality
When you are on a trip, you are doing many physical activities that you might not do while in your home or office. That helps you to improve your sleep quality. Another thing is being with nature and unique places all day long you forget about your worries which is another trigger to improve your sleep.
In conclusion, I can say travel does heal your body. It can reduce your stress, lower your depression, improve your mental health, boost your immunity, improve your sleep quality, and many more. All of these help your body to heal by itself.
